Jonnyandgill's travel blog entry: "4 Days in Plettenberg Bay. The nicest place we have been so far. We arrived and stayed four nights in Nantando's Backpackers. I have to admit. The backpackers over here are on par with the hotels. In our money we probs pay the same rates but it works out as 15 euro each a night. The room has ensuite bathroom, television, coffee/tea, fresh towels etc. Its basically a hotel. The owner of the hostel was lovely and made us a traditional African meal on our second night. The meal is cooked in a big pot and its like a stew accept it is layered. Plettenberg is great and it is the first place that we have been to that is safe to walk around a night. You get a bit sick of getting cabs from door to door after a while. The beach is unbelievable. Crystal clear waters with big waves. You actually feel safe swimming out to such monstrous waves when the water is so calm and clear. Great crack aswell. This is the place where all the South African students come during their break. It is like an American Spring break and the main pub is fairly lively and good crack. We managed to make are way to it twice over the four days we stayed here. We have also been eating really well. If it was not for the wine/beer I recon I would be fitting back in to my St Pauls uniform. We ate in one ... Read the rest of this entry »
